Esta data é aproximada - esta performance ocorreu em algum momento perto de concerto do U2 na Cidade do Cabo em 16 de Março de 1998. O U2 conheceu o arcebispo Desmond Tutu em sua primeira viagem à África do Sul, e ele levou a banda para uma sala para atender a um público de 600 voluntários que trabalhavam com ele. Tutu anunciou que o U2 iria tocar para eles - mesmo sem instrumentos. Daí a banda cantou uma música a capela.

Please note date is approximate - this performance took place sometime close to U2's concert in Cape Town on 16 March 1998. U2 met Archbishop Desmond Tutu on their first trip to South Africa, and he took the band into a room to meet an audience of 600 volunteers that worked with him. Tutu announced that U2 would perform for them - even though they had no instruments. Hence the band sung one song a cappella. (U2Gigs)

Durante a viagem da One Campaign através dos países da África, Bono tem um jantar e bebidas em um pub em Maputo. Um número de músicos estiveram presentes e tocam no palco. Um deles, Xavier Machiana, começou a tocar With Or Without You e foi acompanhado por Bono.

During a One Campaign trip through a number of African countries, Bono had dinner and drinks at a pub in Maputo. A number of musicians were in attendance and they performed on stage. One of them, Xavier Machiana, began playing With Or Without You and was joined by Bono.
