Bono juntou-se a Prince para uma performance da canção "The Cross", que aconteceu após um show do cantor em Dublin pela The Gold Tour. Na performance, na boate POD em Dublin, Bono (embriagado) esqueceu alguns trechos da letra. Prince tocou guitarra. E o vocal de Bono esteve impecável. Antes do show, Prince visitou a boate The Kitchen (propriedade de Bono e Edge), e na maior parte do tempo ficou conversando com uma mulher mais velha. Em seguida, ele conheceu Bono, que revelou que adorava a canção "The Cross". Foi então que Prince convidou Bono para uma performance da canção no aftershow que aconteceria após seu concerto em Dublin. Quem estava presente nesta ocasião jura que Bono teve que ser amparado pelos seguranças para deixar o palco, e saiu esbarrando em todo mundo.
